1906 Romeo Holland Guest born in Anderson, S.C.

1928 Romeo Guest graduates from M.I.T. and becomes a partner in C.M. Guest & Sons.
1929 Wall Street crashes in October signaling the beginning of the 10 year Great Depression.
1930 Construction begins in October on Duke Chapel. Chapel is completed in December, 1932 and formerly dedicated in June, 1935.
1936 John C. Coleman Hotel. Constructed by Guest is this modern sixty-room hotel in the heart of a thriving community located on U.S. Highway No. 1 in Swainsboro Georgia. It is a brick-faced concrete structure of the beam-and-slab type. Architect: Willis Irvin. IMAGE GALLERY

1945 Germany surrenders to US and Allied forces in May ending World War II.
1950 Romeo Guest moves company headquarters to Greensboro, N.C.
1954 Romeo Guest pitches the idea of “Research Triangle Park” to investors and Lt. Governor Luther Hodges.
1959 Research Triangle Foundation formed. Guest sold land to the Foundation for “RTP” which he had purchased with his own money.
1963 Company named changed to Romeo Guest Associates.
1967 Super Bowl I played and the Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10.
1972 Romeo Guest Associates sold to Nello L. Teer Construction Co. in Durham and Mr. Guest retires from the company.
1975 Microsoft founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen.

1991 Company moves into new office and warehouse facilities at its current location on Camden Avenue in Durham.
1993 RGA celebrates 100th Anniversary of the company.
1994 300,000 sf USCO Distribution Center completed.
